Malaysia Airlines MH307 is not the only case of a commercial aircraft being disappear, lost radar, but in the history of aviation was recorded many airplanes have been missing in the air and never been found.

This Infographic shown the history of Large Aircraft Disappearances & Searches Since 1948.

In the infographic above, look at note - Oct. 13, 1972 - 72 Days on a Mountain.. there is a movie (based on novel) about the true story of the incident, title Alive. A true story how 16 of them (from 45) survive by eating their dead members.

Vanish flights around the world with 20 or more passengers from 1948.

Obviously Malaysian Airlines flight MH370 is not the first passengers' aircraft to be vanish, lost and not being found (so far), but the Boeing 777 200ER jet, claimed to be among the most advance and safest aircraft, is the first being lost since 1970, in the hi-technology and communication era.
